About
About Jake Ferguison
I am Jake Ferguison. I help people lead themselves and others through hard seasons, with less white knuckling and a lot more clarity.
Why I do this
Most people I work with are not falling apart. They are holding a lot, doing it well enough, and quietly running low. A new title with no manual. A move that looked perfect and feels lonely. A relationship that keeps hitting the same wall. A year that slipped by without the change you promised yourself.
I believe almost everyone already knows more than they think they do. They are just carrying it alone, in the dark, with no time to think. Coaching turns the lights on. We get the noise out of your head, name what actually matters, and build a plan small enough that you will follow it.
How I coach
Warm and direct. I will listen closely and I will also tell you the truth as I see it. We move at the speed of real life, which means we aim for steps you can take this week, not a binder you will never open. You set the direction. I help you hold the wheel.
Practically, most coaching happens by video, so we can work together whether you are across town or across the country. If you are on the North Oregon Coast, we can meet in person.
Background
I hold a master's degree (Master of Arts (MA)) and trained in mental health counseling. That training shapes how I listen and how carefully I work, and it is also why I am clear about a boundary: what I offer here is coaching, not therapy. If something belongs with a licensed clinician, I will say so and help you find the right person.
What I believe
- You are the expert on your life. My job is good questions, honest reflection, and steady accountability.
- Small, repeated moves beat big, dramatic plans that never start.
- Clarity is kind. Vague encouragement is not.
- How you lead yourself is how you end up leading everyone else.
